The eTrapp system is patented and designed for two purposes: provide a means to prevent the growth of bacteria, fungi, and other organic compounds that create a clog in air-conditioning condensate systems and to deliver important data and alerts through a computer, smartphone, or other smart home device. We felt it was critical to create a technologically-advanced system if we intended to offer the unit owner and the installation professional the data they required in order to monitor the system’s performance and make timely decisions to correct and deal with any operational alerts that the system might provide.
The latter purpose is achieved through a proprietary capacitance sensor array and on-board computing system designed to monitor several local and ambient conditions to ensure that every eTrapp unit is performing optimally at all times. If there is a possible catastrophic issue, eTrapp will shut down the air-conditioning unit entirely to avoid a more costly problem.
eTrapp App
A unit owner will have access to the eTrapp HVAC Condensate System app available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store at no charge. Once the unit owner scans the QR code on the eTrapp as well as the cartridge, they will be prompted to connect to the local Wi-FI network. Once connected, they will be asked to select an installation Pro of their choice and label the unit, i.e. upstairs bedroom, etc. When the set-up process is complete, the eTrapp will then begin transmitting its data to the app.
The eTrapp App provides the following data:
- Condensate level
- The app will send a notification if the water level falls below 25%; the homeowner should then run their air conditioner for a few minutes in order to replenish the water supply in the eTrapp since this acts as a water barrier against the possible introduction of sewer gas into the home or office.
- The app will also send a notification if the water level exceeds 75%; while this is not an indication of an emergency situation, it does indicate that the eTrapp might require service. It is important to note that the eTrapp features a fail safe shut off mechanism if it detects a condensate level that could be indicative of a pan overflow.
- Cartridge life
- An initial notification will be sent when 45 days are remaining. A reminder will then be sent every 15 days until the unit is serviced.
- Power is connected and functioning properly
- Wi-Fi signal strength
- Air filter life
- Provides helpful reminders after each 60-day cycle.
- Data on climate conditions such as ambient temperature, barometric pressure, and relative humidity that contribute to the formation of algae and fungi that ultimately play a part in the formation of condensate clogs
- Air-Conditioning unit running time
- This can be valuable cost-saving information for homeowners without smart thermostats.
In the event of a catastrophic failure, the eTrapp system is designed to completely shut down the HVAC unit thereby eliminating the possibility of water damage to the home or office.
ProPortal
eTrapp is exclusively sold through professional HVAC distribution outlets to eTrapp’s authorized network of professional HVAC installation and repair companies referred to as Pros. The Pro’s senior management team will have access to the ProPortal which is a fully-functional backend management system for all of the eTrapp’s that the company has installed.
Every eTrapp that a Pro installs will send data to the ProPortal, allowing a Pro to see real-time information on all client units via an easy-to-read dashboard reporting system. All of the information that a homeowner receives through the eTrapp app is also available to the Pro. This method of transmitting performance redundancy ensures that nothing is overlooked in regards to performance.
Any eTrapp that is in alert status or is due for a cartridge replacement will be prominently displayed in the eTrapp Alerts segment of the portal, and the geo-location and customer information can be accessed to quickly contact the client to schedule a service call. The ProPortal functions as a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool enabling the company to register their technicians and easily assign work orders on a proactive basis.
eDelta’s Commitment to Service
eTrapp’s parent company, eDelta, is available every step of the way in regards to providing support for the Pros as well as the unit owners. eDelta’s NOC (Network Operations Center) system maintains a database of all certified Pros and monitors every eTrapp’s performance. In this way, we intend to ensure the success of every eTrapp installed and thus earn the confidence of every unit owner.
