What is eTrapp?

What is eTrapp? How can it change how you deal with air conditioner issues?

A Costly Problem

The majority of all non-rising insurance water damage claims are due to air conditioner pan flooding. This usually occurs as a result of condensate output lines that become clogged with bacterial, algae, and fungus growth. Air conditioners outfitted with float switches may be able to shut the A/C unit off in time if they’re in proper working order, but these devices typically have an expiration. Pan flooding due to condensate line clogs causes damage to your flooring, walls, and structural beams. System failure costs range from $150 for a service call to $5,000 or more for a ceiling replacement in flooded attic-mounted units.

Current products on the market for clogged condensate lines include manual cleaning with a bleach/water solution. They also include drip pan tablets that only deal with the symptoms of bacteria-laden condensate output. However, they don’t address the root problem. Thus, the problem will reoccur.

The eTrapp Solution

eTrapp provides a true solution to the problem of clogged condensate lines. It can save homeowners and building owners from costly repairs and damage by preventing condensate line clogs in the first place. In simple terms, eTrapp is a condensate treatment system. It cleans an HVAC unit’s condensate output to prohibit the growth of bacteria, fungus, and algae. eTrapp offers unique features that halt potential issues before they become problems.

eTrapp’s patented unit installs on the condensate output drain line. This line is most often plumbed directly into the sewer line. It holds up to 18 oz of water whereas a typical p-trap will hold 1.5 to 3 oz. The water barrier is traditionally used as a safety measure in preventing sewer gas from being pushed back into the home or office when the A/C unit is running.

The proprietary cartridge contains an eco-friendly chemical treatment. This blend kills bacteria that traditionally grows in the condensate line. The non-corrosive gelling technology forms a protective barrier inside the condensate line. As a result, bacteria, fungus, and algae growth is prohibited. Under normal conditions, an eTrapp cartridge performs for at least six months and is easily replaced once it expires. If a clog should occur and condensate output backs up, the eTrapp will send an alert message to the homeowner via the eTrapp App and the HVAC Pro. The eTrapp system can be wired to shut off the air conditioner is moisture is sensed in the secondary pan.

Real-Time Data

Building owners, homeowners, and HVAC installation Pros all have access to eTrapp’s informative app. The eTrapp App monitors the unit for functionality and provides real-time data about cartridge life, ambient temperature, barometric pressure, relative humidity, and water level in the eTrapp.

HVAC professionals will be able to monitor each and every eTrapp unit they have installed via the Pro Portal. The dashboard reflects the performance of all units and serves as an information database of their individual customers. Alerts are sent to the Pro automatically when a customer’s cartridge is ready to be replaced. Owners of HVAC service companies can load all of their technicians’ information into the Pro Portal. This function can assist in the service and maintenance scheduling process. The dashboard will also monitor the Pro’s eTrapp and eTrapp cartridge inventory, thus making it more convenient for him or her to schedule their technicians daily activity.

eTrapp’s parent company, eDelta, Inc., is also here to help you every step of the way. Our backend NOC (Network Operation Center) also tracks unit performance at every eTrapp installation. eDelta will follow up with our Pros in the field ensuring that absolutely nothing is overlooked. Contact us at info@edeltainc.com for more information. We are happy to educate you about the system, how to get it, or how to become one of our Pros.
