Who Needs an eTrapp?

As eTrapp cleans condensate for many kinds of HVAC systems, it has a wide range of applications. Single-family homes, apartment/condominium complexes, businesses, and other commercial buildings can all benefit from installing eTrapp.

Dirty Condensation

All HVAC systems produce condensation as part of their normal operation. But condensation carries organisms that can wreak havoc if not addressed properly. The eTrapp Condensate Treatment System is meant for any system that creates condensation. Our technology is best suited for air-conditioning systems, heat pump systems, and geothermal heat pumps with an indoor air handler that collects condensation.

eTrapp is a condensate treatment system that kills bacteria, fungus, and algae that thrive in an air-conditioning unit’s condensation. This treatment allows for water to flow through the condensate line freely and out to the sewer line or the ground outside (depending on city/state/country regulations) as clogs won’t form in the line.

Hotter, humid climates may see larger amounts of condensation than cooler, drier climates. Areas with long, hot summers like the southern United States have more issues with line-clogging bacterial growth in condensation. eTrapp was designed with warm climates in mind, but it can apply to all condensate-producing systems in any climate.

Space Considerations

The unit does require clearance at the air handler, however. HVAC systems with condensate output lines that sit against a door or wall may not be able to have an eTrapp. Your HVAC technician will be able to determine whether there’s enough space for the system.
