Air-Conditioner Pan Holding Water
If you notice that your air-conditioner pan is always full of water or tends to overflow, it could be that your condensate line is clogged with bacteria. Air conditioners naturally produce condensation as they have cold coils to create cold air for your home or office, and those cold coils produce condensation just like a cold drink glass does. Most of the condensation drains through the condensate line usually plumbed into a sewer line. Any overflow drains to the drip pan underneath the air conditioning unit.
If the condensate line clogs with bacteria, algae, fungus, and debris, more condensation will go into the pan. If that can’t keep up with the amount of condensation, it may overflow. All of that water damages nearby flooring and baseboards. The ceiling and walls can be destroyed if the air handler is located in the attic. This issue is costly.
Cleaning out the condensate line with bleach water or pan tablets only addresses the symptoms of the issue. The overflow would happen again.
eTrapp Solves the Problem

The eTrapp Condensate Treatment System works to treat bacteria-laden condensate before it can grow into a clog. Condensation drains into the eTrapp. eTrapp’s cartridge treats the water with a proprietary blend of eco-friendly chemicals. This treatment inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungus, and algae. The cartridge also releases gelling fluid that coats the line so that any surviving bacteria can’t stick. Clogs can’t form and cause an overflow!
In the unlikely event of the eTrapp holding too much condensation, eTrapp will automatically send an alert to the owner through the eTrapp App. You can resolve the issue before an overflow occurs. We have included a pan sensor that will also shut off the system before the pan overflows.
